An heirloom tomato with a meaty texture and smooth, creamy flesh. Its low juice content makes it an excellent choice for homemade sauces.
What I appreciate about Amish Paste is its particularly dense and creamy texture, which sets it apart from juicier tomatoes. Its meaty fruits contain few seeds and have smooth, slightly crumbly flesh with very little juice. Its mild, sweet flavor, accompanied by subtle acidity, nicely complements its culinary qualities.
This heirloom variety, originating from Amish communities in the United States, is particularly appreciated for making sauces, purées and preserves. Its low-moisture flesh produces thick, rich preparations without requiring a lengthy reduction.
Its indeterminate plant produces fruit in approximately 85 days.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
