An heirloom tomato from Russia, with dense, juicy flesh and potato-leaf foliage.
What appeals to me about Black Sea Man is its dense, juicy flesh and rich flavor, with a slight salty note. Its medium-sized tomatoes are deep purple. They are delicious in salads, sandwiches, or simply enjoyed fresh.
Originally from Russia, this heirloom variety has a compact, determinate plant that fits easily into small gardens. Its maturity of approximately 75 days makes it an interesting option for northern climates. Its potato-leaf foliage also makes it stand out in the garden.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
