A beautiful plum-shaped tomato with striped skin combining bluish-purple tones over a yellow-orange background.
What I appreciate about Gargamel is the contrast of its colors and its elongated shape, which often ends in a small point. Its fruits display stripes and bluish-purple shades layered over a yellow-orange coloration. Its firm, juicy flesh offers a mild flavor, with a touch of acidity and delicate aromas. It also has good keeping quality after harvest, allowing you to enjoy the fruits for longer.
Gargamel is a recent variety from the United States, developed by Phil Seneca. Although its offspring may show some variation, the plants I grow produce relatively uniform fruits and share the same indeterminate growth habit. Their height can vary, however.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
