Murasaki Sweet Pepper
Capsicum annuum
Very old variety of small purple pepper with anthocyanins turning red when ripe, native to Nara Prefecture in Japan. The fruits look like a chilli pepper but without any trace of spice! Very ornamental variety with its foliage which turns purple when exposed to the sun! Adapted to container culture and northern climate. Grow in the ground or in a pot.
Sow indoors, 5mm deep, 10-12 weeks before the last frost. Transplant. Gradually acclimatize outdoors, before transplanting, when all risk of frost has passed.
Our seeds are reproducible. You can preserve them and share them around you.
Heirloom and open-pollinated varieties grown naturally in the garden.
