A dwarf beefsteak tomato with bright red fruits, perfect for slicing and adding to sandwiches.
What I like about Tanunda Red is its rich, balanced flavor, with neither sweetness nor acidity overpowering the other. Its round, flattened fruits are a beautiful vibrant red and range from medium to large in size. Their juicy flesh and generous size make them excellent slicing tomatoes, just as enjoyable in sandwiches as in salads.
Its vigorous dwarf plant has regular rugose foliage. It produces abundant fruit throughout the season.
Tanunda Red was developed as part of the Dwarf Tomato Project, a collaborative dwarf tomato breeding project involving Craig LeHoullier.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
