A dwarf tomato with mahogany reddish-brown fruits, rich, juicy flesh and a balanced, aromatic flavor.
What distinguishes Tasmanian Chocolate Dwarf is its round, slightly flattened fruits, whose mahogany reddish-brown color hints at rich, juicy flesh. Its balanced, complex flavor makes it a lovely choice for slicing, sandwiches and salads.
The plant reaches approximately 1 to 1.2 m in height and has dense, rugose foliage. Its compact growth habit makes it suitable for growing in pots, containers or small vegetable gardens.
Developed from a cross between New Big Dwarf and Paul Robeson made by Patrina Nuske Small, this variety was selected and named by Linda Reid in Tasmania, Australia.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
