An old Belgian tomato with green, juicy, tender flesh and a sweet flavour when fully ripe.
What I like about Verte de Huy is its particularly fragrant flesh and the way its flavour develops as the fruit ripens. Its round tomatoes turn from green to amber yellow as they mature, sometimes developing a slight pink blush at the blossom end. Inside, their yellow-green flesh is juicy and tender. It develops a mild, sweet flavour accompanied by a hint of acidity that brings a lovely balance.
Its indeterminate plant, reaching 130 to 160 cm, produces generously in mid-season.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
