A rare tomato from Kazakhstan, with yellow-orange flesh veined with pink and a subtly fruity flavor.
What I like about Zolotye Gory Medeo is the beauty of its bicolored fruits and the subtlety of their fruity flavor. Its large, heart-shaped tomatoes have yellow-orange skin with cheeks marbled in rosy red. When cut open, their yellow-orange flesh reveals a pink-veined center. Magnificent!
Its flavor is mild, with gentle acidity and subtle fruity aromas. I’ve noticed that its pear-like notes develop as the fruit ripens and linger longer when it reaches full maturity. Its texture then becomes soft and buttery, with a delicate honey-like note. However, it takes some practice to recognize the right moment to enjoy it and fully appreciate its nuances.
Originally from Kazakhstan, this rare variety is also reputed for its productivity and disease resistance.
Every variety has its own personality. The best tomato isn’t the one that everyone likes, but the one that finds its place in your garden, your kitchen, and your habits.
