Our Meeting

In northern New York State, a tomato with Italian family roots continued its journey from garden to garden.

Its seeds were saved and passed down through the years before being collected by tomato collector Andrew Rahart.

It is thanks to this succession of gardeners who saved and replanted it that we can meet it today.

And now, she continues her story in the garden, with vigorous growth, red beefsteak fruits, and a rich, aromatic flavor.

Her Traits

Andrew Rahart Jumbo Red is a very vigorous plant that takes up plenty of space in the garden and produces generously throughout the season.

Her fruits are round to slightly ribbed, with a good but variable size and dense, generous flesh.

In the Kitchen & At the Table

When fully ripe, Andrew Rahart Jumbo Red offers a rich, balanced flavor, with noticeable sweetness, moderate acidity, and a pronounced aromatic character.

She is particularly enjoyable fresh in slices, in sandwiches, or simply on a summer plate. Her dense flesh also works well in preparations where a rich, substantial tomato is wanted.
