An icon of horticultural heritage, passed down through the Cherokee Nation and made famous by Craig LeHoullier.
A word from your seed grower:"What I appreciate about the 'Cherokee Purple' is its balance. It has the depth of 'black' tomatoes with a slightly smoky richness, while retaining an acidity that balances everything. The tomatoes in shades of pink-purple, often with green-tinged shoulders, are dense and juicy. The 'Cherokee Purple' is a piece of history. Rescued from oblivion by Craig LeHoullier after being passed down from generation to generation within the Cherokee Nation, it is today a reference. A variety that maintains a special place in the garden both for its history and for its taste qualities.
